Bio
Weidi Zhang is a new media artist based in Los Angeles and Phoenix. She is an Assistant Professor of Immersive Experience Design at the Media and Immersive eXperience Center of Arizona State University. Her research explores Speculative Assemblages at the intersection of immersive media, data visualization, and interactive AI art. Her work has been featured in international awards, conferences, and museums, including the Best in Show Award at SIGGRAPH (2021, 2022), the Red Dot Design Award, an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica, and the Lumen Prize Shortlist (2020, 2021), as well as exhibitions at ISEA, Times Art Museum, and the Society for Arts and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Media Arts and Technology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
