YAYTSO
Endless white void. A young person experiences a futuristic ritual provided by a product called "YAYTSO". Unusual opening mechanisms reveal the sacred contents of the object. An otherworldly dialogue between human and machine culminate in a spiritual portrayal of virtual consumption. Clinically pure design transforms into a worshipful icon.
Director Statement:
"Yaytso" is a multidisciplinary project that examines the analogies between consumption and religion. Hybrid mixed techniques combining stop motion and CGI with the sculptural mechanism of passing into another level in modern consumer society.
Bio
Pavel Chernish works as a motion picture artist, animator, and sculptor in Berlin. He achieved his Bachelor degree in Animation from the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.
His fascination with objects and artefacts from the realms of pop culture and mysticism forms his sculptural and film productions. Continuously working on intermedial projects, Pavel explores the haptic perception of sculpture in interaction with the narrative of motion picture.

Klinisch reine Gestaltung verwandelt sich in ein verehrendes Ikon.

„Yaytso“ ist ein interdisziplinäres Projekt, das die Analogien zwischen Konsum und Religion untersucht. Hybride Mischtechniken, die Stop-Motion und CGI kombinieren, mit dem skulpturalen Mechanismus des Übergangs in eine andere Ebene in der modernen Konsumgesellschaft.
Bio
Pavel Chernish arbeitet als Filmemacher, Animator und Bildhauer in Berlin. Er erlangte seinen Bachelor-Abschluss in Animation an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.
Seine Faszination für Objekte und Artefakte aus den Bereichen Popkultur und Mystik bildet die Grundlage seiner skulpturalen und filmischen Arbeiten. In kontinuierlicher Arbeit an intermedialen Projekten erforscht Pavel die haptische Wahrnehmung von Skulpturen im Zusammenspiel mit der Erzählung im Film.
